This couple did something a little different. It was like they did two separate engagement sessions, but they didn’t actually do two separate engagement sessions. They had an outfit change and a location change, which is something all of my clients get, but they did totally different posing. See, this couple consists of two creatives, one of which is a photographer. That means they see a LOT of engagement photos, and the two of them had two different styles that they fell in love with. So, instead of picking one, we did both. Ryan had a much more candid, fluid style that he loved. So, in our Downtown Knoxville pictures, you’ll notice a lot more movement. Imperfect facial expressions, moving arms, lots of walking and hugging and laughing, and all in all, just not static. Our Melton Hill Park engagement pictures consisted more of static posing. Not entirely static because that’s just not my style, but more static than the downtown pictures. Most of my clients don’t even feel comfortable with the first style of posing because it’s very hands off. There’s a lot of, “go stand in that pretty light over there, and hold hands,” then, just documenting the moment unfold while they’re standing in pretty light. I would say almost ALL of my couples like direction. They want to be told where to put their hands, where to tilt their chins, and when to look and not look at the camera. But this couple totally rocked the modelesque side of totally candid, and I’m not going to lie, it was pretty fun for me, too.
So, take a look below, and see if you can see the difference between our Downtown Knoxville and Melton Hill Park engagement photos! I’ll bet you can…but now it’s time to decide, which one do you like more?
