Melton Hill Maternity

In the days leading up to Kayla and Micah’s Melton Hill maternity session, I watched the weather intensely. It kept changing from rain to not rain back to rain and back to no rain again. I messaged her making sure we were on the same page, and finally, Sunday morning, we decided it was worth the risk. Especially with COVID-19 getting worse and worse, and at this point, the Safer at Home order wasn’t declared for Knox County yet. So, we did it. My family and I have been taking this VERY seriously and have stayed home since President Trump recommended social distancing. We’ve literally only left to get groceries and disinfectant stuff, but there were a couple reasons why I thought it was okay to go ahead and shoot Kayla and Micah’s Melton Hill maternity session. First of all, it was at Melton Hill Park. It’s a massive park with lots of open fields. We would easily be 6 feet from one another at any given point. Additionally, Kayla is pregnant, which means she is considered high risk, and she has also been taking things VERY seriously to protect herself and her family. Even more, I shoot with my 85mm the most, which means I am always pretty far from my subjects because of the focal length of my lens. I’m so glad we did because this is not a season Kayla and Micah can get back. They can’t go backwards after baby girl is here to document their pregnancy. It’s not like a family session where your family would pretty much be the same a month from now or even 2 months from now. This is it for them. Take a look through Kayla and Micah’s Melton Hill maternity session, and pray I am able to document Kinsley’s fresh 48 session in May!
