This past weekend I was in Charleston, but the weekend before that, I had a Sunday wedding in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Since it was on a Sunday, I got Saturday all to myself. My only Saturday in the whole fall season that I got off to do all the fall things with Dustin and Grayson. Can you imagine trying to do ALL of your fall things in one day? Well, don’t because it’s exhausting just thinking about it. If you do find yourself in that predicament though, I recommend going to Oakes Farm because you do like 10 of the 12 things there all in one spot under one admission ticket ;-). Anywho…knowing that I was spending the day with family, I’m so thankful that Olivia suggested doing a Meads Quarry sunrise session. Children are generally better at sunrise sessions over sunset sessions anyways. The best part in this particular case is that everything at Meads Quarry was still closed that early on a Saturday morning. That means I got to take the Partons down to one of my favorite spots on the water. It may just be me, but I’m pretty sure the water was extra pretty for us. The deep green it was reflecting was the color of my nails, and as I was capturing this sweet little family in the brisk, cool morning, I was super grateful for them. Their friendship, their leadership as part of Dustin’s and my small group, the role they play in our church, the other friends they have introduced us to, and the way they shine the light of Jesus so brightly.
This was the first Meads Quarry sunrise session I have shot, but it worked great. So, if anyone wants to go back. I am totally down!
