This couple is some of my dearest friends. They also have some of the biggest adventuring souls I’ve ever seen. If you don’t recognize them, you can click here to see their engagement pictures that I took in IRELAND! Yup, you read that correctly… Ireland. You can read on that engagement blog post how I convinced them to meet me there for their pictures! But for the wedding they decided to bring it back home so all of their family and friends could attend. They ended up choosing a venue in Bowling Green, KY called the Lost River Cave. I love how even though they came back to the states, they didn’t choose a typical wedding venue. The Lost River Cave may not have the history that castles in Ireland have, but it definitely offered a totally unique setting for them to celebrate their wedding!
There were so many amazing details at Jennifer and Russ’s wedding, but I think one of my favorites was the centerpieces that they did at the reception. Each table had a lantern, some flowers, and a letter representing one of the cities that they’ve traveled to together. Jennifer and Russ were both travelers before they moved to London, but since they’ve been there, they’ve really taken advantage of traveling all over before they move back to the states. Just on their tables they had Nice, Dublin, Maldives, Paris, Oxford, Galway, Edinburg, Amsterdam, and Brussels, but I know they’ve been to SO many more than that. They are definitely one of the people that I subscribed to their feed on facebook so I can see all the amazing places that they’re going to. It’s a little unhealthy because my jealousy can get a bit out of control, but I just can’t stop lol! Then my other favorite details from their wedding was Jennifer’s shoes and Russ’s shoes. Jennifer and I have ALWAYS bonded over our shoe fetish lol. Since I met her, this is one thing that we really understood about each other. Then you’ll see one image below of all the guys wearing matching socks with the British flag on them. They incorporated their London life in two ways, the centerpiece on their table was London and the groom and all the groomsmen had British flags on their socks. They didn’t go over the top and it didn’t get super cheesy… I think they found the perfect balance of bringing in some of their Brit background!
