Lifestyle Newborn Session
Emily and Brit just went from being parents of one to parents of two. At their lifestyle newborn session, the first thing I asked Emily was so how crazy is it really??? as I am also about to enter that phase of life. So far so good was her initial response. Then, she told me a really hilarious story that I have gotten approval from her to share with you guys.
I nursed Grayson for his entire first year of life. Emily also nursed her first kiddo, T, and is nursing Jase. The first time T witnessed breastfeeding, he was really confused and curious. Both Emily and Brit decided to just be honest with him about what was happening. Not hide it or shy away from it, just help him understand. Which is exactly how I want to be with Grayson, too. I think it helps break down stigmas when we teach children what is happening at a young age vs. hiding it from them and expecting them to be okay with it when they’re older. Jase is two weeks old, and T has witnessed him nurse the whole time. The morning of our lifestyle newborn session, T got one of his stuffed animals and tried to nurse him because why?? His teddy was hungry, of course! When Emily told me this, I was laughing so hard. The innocence of children is and will always be the best thing on the planet.
I am so stinking excited to see Grayson as a big brother. He keeps doing things that are so nurturing and considerate to other people’s children around us. I just know it’s going to melt my heart over and over again watching him love on baby Hazel.
