A couple of years ago, I took senior portraits of a girl named Brianne (click here to see those). They are still some of my FAVORITE senior pictures because of how fun this girl was. Her smile, her hair, and most of all, her authenticity made it so much fun to work with her. Now that girl is a junior in college studying to be a Bible translator in a foreign country!! How awesome is that?? I can honestly say I’ve never met anyone who specifically knew they wanted to work on translating the Bible as a missionary in another country. Well, obviously, this Knoxville Botanical Gardens senior session isn’t about Brianne because she isn’t a high school senior anymore. She is, however, how I met the McGill family and the reason I am now sharing with you her brother’s Knoxville Botanical Garden senior session. Luke has all the same kind, authentic characteristics. Vonda and her husband have raised two amazing, genuine kids, and I have had the absolute privilege of capturing BOTH of their senior portraits! Luke wants to go into engineering of some sort and is looking at either UT or TN Tech as a couple of his college options. This is going to make me sound really ignorant, but when I was in high school, I did not understand what engineering was. I didn’t get the concept of a degree in engineering or what these people actually did for a living. It wasn’t until college that I finally understood, and now, when I look at Dustin and Grayson, I think both of them were natural born engineers. Dustin studied accounting (I’m not even sure they had an engineering degree at our college), but he would have made an amazing engineer. And now, Grayson has those same characteristics. He studies and works with things until he figures out how they operate and finds the most efficient ways to climb up on something or destroy something (ha). I just can’t wait to see how the Lord begins to unfold his story. Anyways, engineering is super cool, and I wish Luke the absolute BEST in deciding on his future!
