Knoxville Botanical Gardens

Kari and Stefan are planning a full wedding on a really fast timeline. When we met, Kari said… I’ve always wanted to get married in the fall and since he proposed in the spring… that means a 6 month – ish engagement. I love that she didn’t let the short term engagement scare her away from having the fall wedding she’s always dreamed of! And I LOOOOVE November weddings in East Tennessee. Temperatures are FINALLY cooler, colors are vibrant, and, of course, football cookouts are filling the air. I did, however, let it scare me. I was in the same predicament. Dustin proposed to me April 21, 2012. He had one stipulation, he wanted to get married on a 22nd (long story short, that number has played out in our relationship and in Dustin’s family throughout his whole life). Well there was a 22nd in the coming up September on a Saturday and there was one in June 2013. I had always wanted a fall wedding as well, but when I looked at the calendar and realized that only gave me 5 months to get it all together, I bit the dust and pushed it to June of 2013. Looking back, I definitely would have done it in September 2012. It was SO hot on our wedding day… like blistering… September may not have been cool yet, but it definitely wouldn’t have been as hot as it was in June. Then also the wait. Waiting 14 months was torture. Finally, the guy that I had been with for 5 years had proposed and I was SO excited to be getting to marry him and then I had to wait 14 months. Now don’t get me wrong… I used every bit of that 14 months to plan and prep for the wedding, but still, all I really wanted was to be married to the man I loved so dearly. I know that Kari and Stefan are not going to regret their decision to do a shorter engagement… I can’t wait until their wedding, it’s going to be so fabulous!
