I can’t decide who 6 month Eylan looks like more on the outside. She definitely has her daddy’s tan skin tone and her mommy’s sweet smile but everything else is a perfect mixture of Austin and Nikki. But when it comes to her personality, she is exactly both her mom and dad. This little girl is just so sweet. She’s constantly smiling, cooing, playing with her dress or eating her hands. She is a female version of Grayson. They are both the happiest babies and don’t meet a single person they don’t like. Did I mention they are just 2 months a part? If Nikki and Austin lived in Knoxville, I know Eylan and Grayson would be friends because I wouldn’t be able to resist having play dates with them. Which would be just as much for me as it would be for Grayson because lemme tell you about the amazing mommy in these photos. Nikki sacrifices so so so much to stay home with Eylan. It’s so funny how society views a “stay at home mom” as a luxury. Like it’s some kind of vacation from reality. And while there are definitely fun times that are incredibly rewarding it’s also so extremely trying, and your payment comes in giggles and slobbery kisses instead of dolla dolla bills ya’ll. But being a stay at home mom when your husband’s job requires a lot of travel, is even harder because it’s just you 90% of the time. You’re changing every single diaper. You’re waking up multiple times a night to soothe a crying baby. You’re doing every single bath. Cutting every single fingernail. Doing all the grocery runs with an extra 20 lbs. Fixing every meal. Picking up ALL the toys during every nap. But don’t let me shadow the sacrifice that Austin is making too. He loves Nikki and Eylan so much… he works his tail off to provide for them so that Nikki can stay home. He sacrifices week after week as he travels for work and I know the weekends that he gets to come home he is cuddling with his little nugget 24/7 trying to get all the feels in while he’s there in person. I admire these two so much. From the way they love each other, the way they love their little, and the work ethic that they are teaching her is just so inspiring. I’m so honored to call this family so much more than just clients. I will be forever thankful that they hired me two years ago to photograph their wedding and then again for Eylan’s newborn and 6 month photos!
