Sweet Abby chose me to be her photographer after she saw the senior photos I did for her friend Maddy last year. She is one of the most precious seniors I have photographed this year. Also, her hair is absolutely beautiful, and her makeup looked pristine. It was one of the first things I said to her when I saw her, and later in the session, she told me her friend did it. When they were done, she looked at Abby and said, “If your photographer doesn’t compliment your hair and makeup, I quit.” 😂 I was happy Abby could report back that not only did I compliment it, but it was one of the first things I said to her!
Abby brought her violin, the book she’s currently reading, and a few outfits to her Knoxville Botanical Garden senior session. She was so incredibly easy to work with, and we were able to get so much variety walking around the garden. This session was just a couple weeks ago so I was obviously very pregnant. When I asked her what she wanted to do after she graduated high school, she told me about her aspirations to become a labor and delivery nurse. She said it is what her grandmother did, and she admired her grandmother so much. She has always had a heart for caring for people, but when she started thinking through how this might play out in her career choice, she felt especially passionate about taking care of mothers just after birth. She said, “everyone’s always focused on the baby, but I just want to make sure the mama is feeling good.” I immediately felt my heartstrings pulled as these words came out of Abby’s mouth. The nurses and the midwives that have been a part of both of my kids’ deliveries have been absolutely wonderful. I’ve left the hospital both times with a massive love for each and every one of these ladies. We are forever bonded, and I’m still so grateful for the way they served me, Dustin, and our fresh baby in our short stay at the hospital. Abby totally has this heart. I can’t wait to see how God uses her.
