I’ve gotten the opportunity to shoot more small, intimate weddings this year than ever before. As much as I love the big huge weddings that start in the wee morning hours and dance the night away, my heart has a different place for these intimate weddings. The tiny little details, the untraditional wedding gowns, being surrounded by the tightest knit group of friends and family. Jennifer and Rocky’s wedding was no different. They got married in the Vineyard family home in front of magnificently decorated Christmas mantel with maybe 15-20 people gathered around them. When I talked to them to know what exactly they wanted from their wedding images, she told me we don’t like being the center of attention, that’s why we are just doing something small, … which is probably good because Lucia and James totally stole the show. They are 4 year old cousins and absolutely adore one another. I was with Jennifer in a back bedroom taking photos of her getting ready when they brought Lucia and James in holding hands. They told James to go back out and wait for the wedding to start and he looked at Lucia and said “I don’t want to let go because then we’ll be separated” and Lucia leaned in and said “it’s okay, we won’t be separated long”. My momma heart was exploding. Could there be anything cuter in the whole entire world? Well yes, yes there can be. Later on when James is dancing with Lucia and twirls her under his arm. Or when Lucia takes both arms around James’ neck and kisses him right on the lips. Oh yes… you read that right. Scroll down to see some cuteness for yourself. This intimate wedding was so much fun… I can’t wait until my next one!
