We kicked off Natalie and Anthony’s Hunter Valley Pavilion wedding day at Natalie’s mom’s house out in Louisville, TN. She and her girls stayed there the night before and had the most relaxing morning eating snacks, having their hair and makeup done, and just hanging out. When I got there, Natalie was absolutely radiant as she showed me around the house, introduced me to her girls, and gave me all of her bridal details. She showed me two Bibles, a locket, and a fresh water pearl pin that was handed down through generations in her family. She started tearing up telling me about all the ladies in her family who wore that pearl on their own wedding day. In that moment, my heart was overflowing with joy for this beautiful bride in front of me. It was finally her day. It was her day to wear the pearl and carry the Bible and tie the locket on her bouquet. She was finally getting her happily ever after, and it was joyfully emotional.
As the day began to unfold, I witnessed Anthony seeing his bride for the first time. Anthony is a little more on the quiet side. A little modest. While I don’t know him super well, I feel like he’s maybe a little bit on the less emotional side. But when he saw his girl. His eyes got a little glassy, and he held her so tight. I could see him physically relax as he unwound in the arms of his best friend. After they were ready to move on, he took a big sigh, and said “Well, that helped so much with my nerves. I’m so glad I got to see you.” And there it is, guys. First looks are so much more than just logistically beneficial. First looks can help calm your nerves and get you even more excited for the ceremony. When you reflect on your day later on, you remember it together. You spend the bulk of the day together and share these memories instead of yours and theirs until the ceremony. They still aren’t for everyone, and I so respect that. If you’re on the fence, however, it probably means you need to do it!
I’m so thankful Natalie and Anthony had me as part of their day. I learned at the end of the day they actually hired another photographer. A girl I went to high school with recommended me to Natalie. A couple days later she ran into me at Hunter Valley’s open house. They met me and chatted, and then walked around to all the other vendors. At the end of the event, they came back and waited in line to talk to me. When I finally got to them, she had this big grin on her face, and said, “We want to book you!” My heart skipped a beat, and I gave her the biggest hug! It is SUCH an honor when a bride decides to hire me on the spot like that. Honestly, I could not imagine doing anything else on October 16th. I absolutely adore Natalie and Anthony, and their Hunter Valley Pavilion wedding was absolutely gorgeous.
