Hunter Valley Farm Wedding

Ashley and Stephen are from a little town in Virginia that is 3 hours away from Knoxville. They found Hunter Valley Farm online, and after one visit, they knew it was the place for them! Couples from out of town that don’t have a lot of time to plan a destination wedding should consider having a Hunter Valley Farm wedding because they are almost all inclusive. They have coordinators, a florist, a cake artist, catering options, tables and chairs, linens, centerpieces, and a DJ. You bring in your own photographer and videographer and get your hair and makeup done off site, but they pretty much take care of everything else. It’s really incredible and is a well oiled machine since they’ve done hundreds and hundreds and HUNDREDS of weddings. My goal for this particular Hunter Valley Farm wedding was to bring some creative new locations I haven’t used before. I shot another Hunter Valley Farm wedding on July 25th, so I wanted to make sure those two weddings didn’t look the exact same! With the help of Meghan and Ryan’s engagement session a couple weeks ago, I found some more spots I love and am so excited to show you the uniqueness I brought to this wedding!

Stephen & Ashley

This is about to get real cheesy, you guys. I’m certain you are going to be rolling your eyes as you read this, but regardless, it is what it is. You know the different types of love in the world? Love for your kids is different than love for your spouse. High school love is different than 30 year marriage love. Best friend love is different than family love. Well, after years and years and years of seeing young love in all of my couples, I can also tell the difference between the love that has been seasoned, fought for, and roughed up a little and the easy love that has just coasted along with no hurdles and no threats. There’s nothing wrong with the latter. If anything, I am so happy you haven’t had to go through the trenches yet. But for the ones of us that have. For the ones of us that have had to fight for the people we love. We’ve had to stand up for them and choose to be there even when it wasn’t easy. We’ve had to carry them through struggles, and they’ve had to carry us. We’ve had to trust them with every single one of our vulnerabilities, and they’ve stayed right there through it all. There has been fire and floods and alarms sounding and flashing lights and complete chaos, but when the noise settles, you realize they never stopped holding your hand. That is the love that runs deep and true and is soul soothing deliciousness. That is the love that makes your eyes water when you’re overwhelmed with the amount of it that you can feel for one flawed human being. That is the love that will stand the test of time and hard circumstances. That is the love that Ashley and Stephen share. And it was beautiful. And it was with utmost privilege that I was there to preserve it forever.

Just look at the way he looks at her. Look in his eyes when he reads the vows his best man had scripted on a piece of plexiglass. Watch his reaction when he sees his bride walking down the aisle towards him. Watch his arms embrace her with everything he has in him. Then, look at her. See her smile and her complete giddiness throughout the entire day. See the way she folds up in his arms, and I can almost feel her inhale and relax as he snuggles against her.

It’s quite beautiful, friends. And it’s real.
