Abbey & Donald got married at Graystone Presbyterian Church in South Knoxville. This is one of my favorite churches to shoot at in Knoxville because it’s just so pretty. In addition to all of its beauty, it has an absolutely wonderful staff, and they allow you to bring in your own pastor to officiate the ceremony. In this case, Abbey’s dad married them. It was so sweet and so personal. He may or may not have teared up a couple times (sorry to tell on you, dad). Needless to say, he had the whole guest list holding back tears as he talked about how proud he was to be officiating the wedding of his only daughter as she said, “I do,” to as a great man as Donald. It was just really sweet. Abbey & Donald’s wedding was filled with all their family. There is definitely a time to have 10 people in your wedding party, and have it filled with your bestest friends. But there’s also a time to keep it small and just have family. That’s how Abbey & Donald’s wedding was. They had only family and their single BEST friend (that’s basically family) in their wedding party. They are such amazing people that if they would have had all their friends up there, it probably would have been 14 people on either side. So, they decided it was all or nothing, and they really weren’t feeling the gigantic wedding party.
One of my favorite parts of Abbey & Donald’s Graystone Presbyterian Wedding was the Rolls-Royce they rented. This car was incredible, and it coupled with the church so well. There was a perfect parking spot for it so I could shoot Abbey & Donald, the car, and the church all in one shot. And the British guy who drives the car is just the nicest! We were supposed to take some photos of Abbey & Donald with the car before the ceremony, but when we ended family photos, it still wasn’t there. Towards the tail end of family photos thunder started rolling, but there was no rain in sight. Come to find out, the Rolls was on its way to the church when a HUGE thunder storm hit and caused all kinds of traffic. We knew nothing of this thunder storm until about 5 minutes after family photos finished, and it came a monsoon. You knew I was going to find some way to slip a rain story in here, didn’t ya? If not, then you don’t read my blogs often enough lol. Anywho, we finished our last outdoor photo, 5 minutes later it monsooned and kept monsooning until the ceremony, it cleared up during the ceremony, and we went out for some really super awesome Rolls-Royce pictures! God is just so good, you guys. He always always always pulls through and knows exactly what needs to happen!
