You may have seen that I posted another Trillium wedding blog post yesterday. You would be correct. This past weekend, I had a wedding at The Trillium on Friday and on Monday. The Trillium also hosted weddings on both Saturday and Sunday, but I cozied up in this adorable little cabin called The Blackfern Treehouse on those days. The difference between the Friday and the Monday wedding was vast. First of all, the Friday wedding felt like a summer wedding. Hot, humid summer storms passing through in the distance. The Monday wedding was cool, crisp, and way more fall-like. Ironic because Friday was the end of August, and Monday was the beginning of September. I’m not sure if you classify September as fall, but I do. To me, it’s the fall kick off month, and the weather is reflecting that this week. I am SO here for it. This was my first fall Trillium wedding actually. I’ve done lots of spring weddings there, a couple winter weddings, but not any fall weddings. It was so wonderful!
Cameron and Abby brought their family down from Kentucky and as many vendors with them, too. The florist, hair and makeup team, and videographer were all from the bride and groom’s hometown. From a photography perspective, this can sometimes be a little risky. Working with new vendors can either be really amazing or can be a little bumpy. But in this case, Abby and Cameron brought down a phenomenal group. Everyone stuck to the timeline, was so incredibly friendly and generous, and were overall so genuinely happy for the couple. Their day was so joyful, peaceful, and relaxing. No one seemed stressed. It was just happiness all the way around.
One thing I want to touch on that Abby and Cameron did that I absolutely loved was how they ended their reception. I’ve only seen this done ONE other time, and it was just as great then, too. They ended their reception with a final dance to share with everyone, and it was a worship song. Their particular song was I Thank God (Get Up Out of That Grave) by Maverick City & The Upperroom. But it wasn’t that particular song choice that made it so great. It was the fact that everyone left on the dance floor knew it and were all jumping around and praising Jesus and singing at the top of their lungs like a worship service at church. Everyone was jumping around and throwing their hands in the air in worship, and it brought tears to my eyes and chill bumps on my arms. It was such a cool and awesome way to end the celebration of their wedding. If you are a believer and you have a group of wedding party members that are also believers, I highly recommend ending your night this way. You will not regret it!
