Raquel and Garrett are so fun. I met with them back in the spring and finally got to take their engagement pictures a few days ago. They’re getting married at Jackson Terminal, so we started out next to the venue in the old city. Most people would think having your engagement pictures close to your wedding venue would be redundant but I love it. I will make sure and take some wedding day images at the same spots we used for the engagement session and then Raquel and Garrett can hang one of each beside each other on a wall for a fun display. But also, I know which spots I liked most for their particular skin and hair color and I am going to go straight to those to get the most out of our time together on their wedding day. The engagement and wedding images definitely will not look just alike in contrast to what most would think!
Our second location was Mead’s Quarry. I LOVE this spot in the fall. This is the first fall that I’ve shot here and all the leaves on the ground as you walk back through the trails are amazing. But really the best part is the reflection on the water and the huge stone backdrop. The water itself is already a deep blue/green color, relating more to a fall color tone vs. other seasons, but then it reflects the burnt orange and mustard yellows that are found in the gigantic stone backdrop and leaves with just stunning rich color in all of the images. Couple that with Raquel’s maroon top and Garrett’s orange plaid and it was all fall. Have I mentioned that I love this season. Literally everything about it. I think when I get to Heaven, it’s going to feel like fall all the time.
