Downtown Knoxville Engagement Session

This couple is so much fun and are definitely city people like myself. I’ve always told Dustin that I am so thankful that the Lord had us come together to live this life, but if He hadn’t, I probably would have moved to Manhattan right out of college and lived my life riding the subway, catching taxis, walking busy sidewalks, and working as a public accountant. I’m thankful that He had other plans because looking back, I like His plans better… but either way, that city girl is still inside me. When I met with Leslie, she told me they were wanting a Downtown Knoxville engagement session for their entire 2 hours, and I knew we were going to be friends. I found some of the best alleys, sidewalks, graffiti, and exposed brick to capture the essence of Leslie & Derric. It wasn’t hard though because once the camera came up, they were all cute cuddles and giggles and even though Leslie isn’t ticklish at all, she pretended and laughed for me anyway. We talked about the conundrum that is deciding whether to live downtown in a teeny tiny apartment or live just outside of downtown and have a lot more space for the same price. When Dustin and I moved back from Nashville, we rented downtown for about 6 months. I LOVED it. Like really really loved it. At the time, we didn’t think anything about paying $1,400/month for a downtown apartment because that’s exactly what we were paying for an apartment 45 minutes outside of the city in Nashville. But now that we have adjusted to Knoxville life, we would not go back to paying that. Ha! So expensive! Perspective is everything. We also chose a church 30 minutes from our home and thought it was no big deal. We drove 30 minutes to get ANYWHERE in Nashville, but now… shew. We love our church too much to move, but sometimes I know that the reason we don’t always do the church extracurriculars is simply because we don’t want to spend an hour of our already short evening driving. Is that terrible? I’m not sure I should have admitted that. But anywho… get to scrolling because you’re going to love this sweet couple’s Downtown Knoxville engagement session!
