Beating the Storm with this Downtown Knoxville Engagement

Austin and Courtney live in Kentucky and took off work for two days to come to Knoxville for their Downtown Knoxville engagement session last week. Leading up to their travel day, the weather was all over the place. One hour it would say 70%, then it would change to 30%, then jump up to 90% precipitation. We kept texting each other, and I was watching the weather like a hawk. Finally, the day we were shooting arrived, and it said 78% chance of thunderstorms right at the hour we were supposed to start shooting. It stayed that way until about 3pm, and then, all of a sudden, the storm pushed back to 8:30pm. As soon as they got into Knoxville, we piled into one car and headed downtown. We had AMAZING weather, beautiful light, and great temperatures. We made it all the way to the last 10 minutes of their session where we planned on ending at Merchants of Beer and shooting a few of them on the patio with a drink in their hand when it started sprinkling. It was literally perfect timing. We finished up and chilled inside MoB while the monsoon came. A full thunderstorm swept through while we hung out having a drink. When it finally let up, we headed over to Stir and had dinner without even having to wait for a table.

I love Downtown Knoxville engagement sessions because I genuinely just love Downtown Knoxville! Both Austin and Courtney commented about how fun and clean our downtown scene is compared to Lexington. I think I often forget that Knoxville is not the norm. It is small, but it thrives in creating a really great community for people to gather. I love my little city!
