Knox County Courthouse Wedding
This is the second courthouse wedding I’ve gotten to shoot this month and I just love it. If having the big wedding isn’t for you… then don’t do it. It’s not for everyone and that is a-okay! You will still get all the feels and all the emotions when it’s just the two of you (with maybe one or two other people) in the courthouse slipping rings on one another’s fingers.
I loved witnessing Chris and Laura’s ceremony. Chris is the jokester. And I learned that he comes by it honestly when I met his dad at their courthouse wedding! Laura is the sweetest human on the planet and I loved watching her play right along with all of Chris’ goofy moments. But when the time came right down to it and they were committing to forever together, I watched Laura’s eyes fill with tears and turned to see Chris’ smile as big as humanly possible and that moment is forever ingrained in their memories. It didn’t last long and it didn’t need to because I saw the way they were lost in each other for those few seconds. They will never be able to forget it… and if they do, I have it preserved forever for them.
I’m so thankful that Laura and Chris let me join them for their ceremony. Their courthouse wedding was scheduled for 3:30 and I was supposed to meet them on the steps in front of the courthouse at 4. I didn’t know how the parking situation was going to be, so I got there a little early and decided to go into the courthouse to keep warm (because as you’ll see it was snowing this day – amidst the 60 degree days around it hahahaha) while I waited on them. Well, turned out the courthouse was running a bit behind and they hadn’t even gone into their room yet. They invited me to go in with them and I got to document their ceremony in addition to their portraits afterward. It was just so sweet and I’m so excited to be sharing them with you below!
