Branson Bridges is a senior at Gibbs High School, and I have photographed his family a couple of times over the years. So, when his mom, Jovelyn, asked if I could photograph his senior session, my answer was, of course, YES! We scheduled it pretty far out, and when we started talking about locations a couple weeks early, Branson decided he wanted his senior photos taken at the church camp he grew up attending. His dad also grew up going to this church camp! It was about 1.5 hours away, but it’s what he had his heart set on. So, off we went to this tiny little town between Knoxville and Chattanooga. It was exactly what you think of when you think about a church camp for youth. It had the little watering hole, the cabins, the mess hall, the chapel, the gym, the hammocks, etc. And as this senior session unfolded, I came to understand why this place is so meaningful to Branson. He shared his favorite things to there and his favorite people he would do them with. Memories that he will reminisce on for the rest of his life. It was at this church camp that Branson decided he wanted to go to Johnson Bible University to pursue something in the ministry field. This tiny little place, in this tiny little town, completely off the beaten path impacted Branson so much that it set his trajectory for his adult life. I know that Jovelyn and Don have to be so proud him. I’m so excited to see where God takes him these next few years!
