You know why I love doing Bridal sessions… because I have been the bride who didn’t do them and boy did I regret that. There were three things on my dress that I did NOT like on my wedding day that I had no idea would happen when I tried it on at the alterations place. 1) I had a sash that was suppose to cover up the seam that connected the skirt of my gown to the bodice and that sash kept riding up and getting stuck right under my boobs and completely exposing that seam and when I see it in pictures I’m like gosh that looks terrible. 2) I was super duper paranoid about my arm pit fat with my strapless dress because strapless or more strapless was what the options were back in 2013. So I told the seamstress that I just wanted to make sure it was not tight on my arm pits… well when she cut it to make it a sweetheart neck she took one side in more than the other and my right side puckered out so much so that it was hardly ever actually against my skin in any pictures. Again. Terrible. 3) The bow that my sash tied behind my back was a pretty heavy bow and it kept. coming. untied. all. day. long. And my mom was the only one who could get it tied back and still look good and she was not about to be following me around ALL day long on the hundreds of steps at my outdoor venue in the heat of June. I know, I know, I was crazy. In summary, if I had done a bridal session where I was actually in my dress outside in the humidity, walking around, I would have figured all of these things out before hand and would have sent my dress BACK to alterations and had all these things fixed. I also would have definitely changed my hair style. But shout out to my cuz who did my makeup and I love love loved it. Also super loved my flowers. But some of my brides even end up changing those two things as well. So for this Castleton Farms Bridal session, I had a blast getting to perfect the design of Allison Disney’s entire bridal look. And it was flawless. She didn’t change anything actually, but she now knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that this is exactly what she did want in all of her wedding photos! And you know what else is awesome… we did 1.5 hours of Castleton Farms Bridal portraits in golden hour and on her wedding day, her bridal portraits were taken in the brightest part of the day. To say that the lighting at her Castleton Farms Bridal session is a million times better is an understatement. I even went back and added a few bridal portraits in to her album when designing it because the lighting on them are so much better! So anyway, that’s my spill. Do a bridal session, you won’t regret it!
