I don’t think there has ever been a more perfect wedding venue for any couple ever anywhere. This couple met at Camp Ba-Yo-Ca. They spent a TON of time there, had their first kiss there, led campers to Christ there, and are actually going back there the week after their honeymoon to serve again. They have sacrificed weekend after weekend after weekend during their engagement to serve at Camp Ba-Yo-Ca. Caleb’s dad married them and during the ceremony shared some of his relationship with Camp Ba-Yo-Ca as well, so the history with this place and this family runs deep. So very few couples have as many memories together at one location repetitively, and then get to have it as their wedding venue. But it was so perfect, and I am so thrilled to be bringing you a Camp Ba-Yo-Ca Wedding.
Remember when I said they had their first kiss there? Well, get this. There is no cell service once you turn onto Happy Hollow Road. Of course, I got there almost an hour before I was supposed to because I had never shot there. Knowing that it’s a summer camp, I assumed that it was really spread out, and it was. So, I wanted to have some time to drive/walk around and find areas that would work for all of their portraits. I drove around twice before I decided where the first look would take place. The camp is settled in this valley, and there are creeks running throughout the whole campus. There are several little arched walking bridges going over the creeks in different places, and there was one bridge that was totally shaded with a beautiful backdrop. I joined the girls where they were getting ready and told Brianna where I wanted to do the first look. She smiled at me so big and said, “That’s exactly what I was thinking because that’s where we had our first kiss!” Jaw dropped. I love the way the Lord works.
Some of you may read that above and say, “Oh, big whoop.” But if you saw this campus and ALL the spots that I could have chosen. ALL the walking bridges that they could have had first kisses on. This one was right in the middle of it all, the likelihood of a first kiss happening in the middle of the camp where just anyone could be passing is so much less than it occurring on one tucked back to the side that doesn’t get a lot of traffic. But no, it was that one. And it was the one that I chose knowing nothing about anything there. Just so cool to me. Enjoy this fun Camp Ba-Yo-Ca Wedding.
