Getting this couple’s engagement session on the books was a little bit more difficult than I would have liked, but I am SO glad that we made it happen. Jackie told me from the start of our conversations that she wanted a Cades Cove engagement session. She said it was her favorite place on earth, and this is where Chris proposed to her! I told her what I tell every couple who wants Cades Cove engagement photos…that I require a sunrise session, which means we can’t do Wednesdays or Saturdays because they close the loop down until 10am for people to bike it. I also said this because I literally have a wedding every single Saturday from May to August, and then, after those stop I’m traveling every weekend until fall weddings start back up. Normally, getting my schedule to match up with my client’s schedule isn’t a problem, especially in the summer because we still have plenty of day light to shoot after work hours. Since this couple lives in Georgia and has irregular work hours, there were just a few options between them booking with me, and their wedding in October for us to make it happen. We settled on a Sunday, which meant I was waking up super duper early in the morning following a really late Saturday night photographing a wedding, but that was the only option here, which meant I was definitely making it happen. I’m so thankful that they also were willing to wake up before dawn to meet me, AND they were on time :-). Cades Cove truly is one of the prettiest places on this side of the Great Smoky Mountains. I truly love love love shooting there, but any time they decide to make the 1 way loop 2 ways, I would not be mad about it ;-). It would seriously solve all my problems lol. Let’s be honest, more pavement in natural terrain is not ideal, so people, pleeeeeaaaaase start using the pull offs like ALL the signs say. Oh, and we did see a bear. A baby bear. It was so stinking adorable.
