Baby Brother Newborn Session at The Studio
My relationship with this family goes way back. Engagement photos, wedding photos, a whole first year worth of photos with their first born, and now, round two with their second born. Each time I get to work with them, I find myself just hanging out with friends. We catch up on life and chat about parenting, favorite toys, and what it’s like to add a second. I adore this relationship we’ve developed and am so thankful they’ve chosen to hire me again and again.
I don’t photograph a lot of brother newborn sessions. Most of the time, the newborns coming through my doors are first borns. I love when there’s another child included because they bring an element of surprise to each pose they are included in. What I mean is whatever you’re trying to get them to do, they’re probably going to do something cuter, and you’re going to get something even better. During Hazel’s newborn session with Mango Mahalo Photography, Michelle asked Grayson where Hazel’s nose was, and he reached over and pushed one side of her nostril in. So, there’s this adorable photo looking down on sleeping Hazel with her big brother’s chubby finger with knuckle dimples coming in the side of the photo pushing her nostril closed. It’s one of my favorites and one I printed copies of for all the grandparents.
KJ was no different. I think we were all impressed with how well he did with Andrew, and the spontaneous shots of him doing adorable things are some of my favorites from the session. They are suuuuuper close in age so he’s not totally to the point of being able to fully understand Andrew yet, but one day, these two boys are going to be the best of friends. It’s going to be adorable.
