Botanical Gardens Senior Session in Knoxville, TN

Sometimes, things happen in your business that really show you your hard work is paying off. One of those things happened to me at Marina’s Botanical Gardens senior session. Through all of our communications, we never talked about what high school she went to. So, one of my first questions when we started walking to our first spot was so…what high school did you go to? She told me she went to Loudon County High School. In my head, I had never heard of Loudon County High School, but I knew we had a Loudon County west of Knoxville, and I assumed there was a new high school there. Turns out, she is actually from Loudon County, Virginia. Her grandparents live in Knoxville, and her extended family lives in Texas. Sfter looking locally for a photographer she loves, she also started browsing Knoxville and parts of Texas. Of all the photographers she came across, which I’m thinking was definitely in the 100’s, she chose me. Also, did I mention she also dabbles in photography? That means she knows what she’s looking at.

Initially, as this blog post started unfolding, I almost rewrote it. I didn’t want to come off as being braggy or conceited. I didn’t want to make it sound like I think I’m the best out of everyone she looked at, but I decided to stick to my guns and write what the Lord laid on my heart because the fact is, I’m not tooting my own horn. I am stating there was a major reminder when Marina told me that she just kept coming back to my work after all the people she looked at. It reminded me what I’m doing matters. How I’m doing it matters. What I’m posting online to represent Amanda May Photos matters. People are looking at it, and it is influencing decisions. It doesn’t matter if it’s 1 person or if it’s hundreds, thousands, or even millions. If you filter all the things you post online through the lens of how is this influencing the people that see it? I think you’ll find it much easier in the decision on whether to share it or not. Of course, that’s not the only lens your post should filter through, but Marina helped remind me it is definitely one

This sweet senior’s Botanical Gardens senior session was one for the books, and she was the best model. Her grandparents were super sweet and supportive and enjoyed the gardens while we shot. I’m so thankful she chose me, and I’m so thankful she shared that process with me. Hopefully, it can be of some reminder to you as well.
