I photographed Raquel and Garrett’s wedding back in 2017, and now, they are welcoming their first babe into the world. I love that they have allowed me to walk alongside them once again for another major milestone. Seeing couples I photographed years ago is truly like a little happy reunion. Right before Raquel and Garrett’s session, I photographed the Hope Resource Center banquet where I ran into a couple I photographed in 2014. The husband came up to me and said, “I bet you don’t remember us, do you?” I responded by saying their names and recalling how amazing their first look was. They were flabbergasted I remembered them and a specific part of their day. The same thing happened when Raquel and Garrett got out of their car for their Baxter Gardens maternity session. It was honestly like talking with old friends, and all your memories with them just come flooding back. We picked up right where we left off in 2017, and it was beautiful. I got to hear about their adventures since then and how excited they are for their first sweet baby! How the pregnancy has gone and what the nursery is like. The whole evening was more like hanging out with old friends listening to what their life has been like over the last 5 years and less like working. I’m thankful for this on so many levels. I’m thankful I’m at this sweet spot in my career that I’m getting to focus on serving my past clients more and reliving their days with them and creating new memories to relive in the future.
