Alpine Village Wedding Chapel

Brittany reached out to me about a few short weeks before her and her fiancé were coming to Pigeon Forge to elope. I guess technically it wasn’t an elopement because it was a little more planned and their closest family and friends joined them, but it definitely was a teensy, tiny, intimate wedding that was full of the richest emotion. I knew so so little about these two. All I knew was that they were planning on driving to the Alpine Village Wedding Chapel to tie the knot on November 18th and I just happened to have that Saturday open. She was super sweet on the phone, but after about a 20 minute conversation, we parted ways until the wedding.

Fast forward to the wedding day and I watched Daniel drop a single solitary tear from each eye as he watched his bride walk down the Alpine Village Wedding Chapel aisle towards him. I can’t say for sure, but I feel like his facial expression showed how long he had been excitedly waiting for this moment. He had loved her for so long and he was finally getting to share his last name with her. He was finally getting to slide a band on her finger. He was finally getting to promise before God to love and cherish and respect and lead and guide her for the rest of time. Once she reached him, she handed her bouquet over and wiped the tears from his cheek. The ceremony couldn’t have been more than 10 minutes long, but every single one of those minutes were so full of joy and happiness and thankfulness. This same feeling flowed into family and bride and groom romantic photos. As we parted ways, I went home to edit a sneak peek because throughout our time together, Brittany had mentioned how obsessed with pictures she was. That she has a regular photographer back in Virginia who she hires regularly to document her family. So I found her on instagram, shared the image with a cute little caption, tagged her and Daniel and added her wedding to my very very long to-be-edited list. As time passed I started seeing her posts come up on my feed. Each one being narrated with that same thankful joy that was present on her wedding day. I saw how passionate she was about life and how grateful she was for the moments she was experiencing with the people in her life. She was walking in such transparent gratitude. I think it may be because her and I are walking in a very similar pathway of life right now, but I can’t help but feel so tangibly this safe overflow of gratefulness. We both LOVE pictures. We both have babies under 1. We both have husbands that we absolutely adore. We are both standing in awe of our glorious Father and asking Him how He can bless us with so much when we don’t deserve it. A very very wise woman that I respect so much told me one time that a heart of gratitude is the safest and most joyous place for a Christ follower. So as we are sinking deep into this season of gratitude, I can’t say thank you enough, Brittany, for sharing your gratefulness… it truly is a reflection of Christ that I hope reaches so many.
