Crossville, TN Wedding || Marissa & Paul

A Cloudy Fall Wedding at a Family Farm in Crossville, TN

Marissa and Paul’s Crossville farm wedding was filled with everything I love about wedding days: breathtaking scenery, heartfelt moments, joyful people, and just enough unpredictable Tennessee weather to keep us on our toes.

Before we jump into their wedding day, though, you’ll see a few engagement photos. Marissa and Paul have lived in a couple cities during their engagement, and right before their wedding, they moved to Kansas City. Between finishing school, moving, and planning a wedding, their engagement session had to wait until the week of the wedding, when they were already coming back to Tennessee.

Since they both attended the University of Tennessee, returning to Knoxville for their engagement photos was incredibly meaningful. We met at Volunteer Landing, where we could include Neyland Stadium in the background and celebrate a place that played such an important role in their story. It’s not often that I’m editing engagement and wedding photos at the same time, so I had to share a few favorites before diving into their beautiful day!

Marissa and Paul were married at Paul’s brother’s farm in Crossville, Tennessee, and my, oh my, was it gorgeous. As I followed the driveway into the woods, the trees suddenly opened onto the family’s cleared farmland. There was a beautiful green pond, a barn perched on the hill, and the house perfectly situated in the middle of it all. My jaw dropped. I immediately understood why they had chosen this place for their wedding.

Their day felt intimate and deeply personal. Marissa and Paul surrounded themselves with their closest friends and family, creating a celebration overflowing with laughter, hugs, happy tears, and excitement. As a photographer, I couldn’t ask for anything better than a group of people who spend the entire day laughing, embracing, and raising glasses together.

Of course, we have to talk about the weather! It rained for most of our drive from Knoxville to Crossville, and showers continued on and off throughout the morning. But when it was time to head outside for portraits, the rain stopped and stayed away for the rest of the celebration.

This was also my first wedding of the season with noticeable fall color. Crossville’s leaves begin changing a little earlier than Knoxville’s, and I was completely geeking out over the gorgeous pops of red. After the ceremony, we headed into the fields for portraits among the colorful foliage, and the results were absolutely beautiful.

Marissa and Paul’s Crossville farm wedding was warm, emotional, and wonderfully true to them. I’m so excited to share these photographs with you. Hopefully, you’ll be drooling over this beautiful family farm and all those rich fall colors as much as I am!
