Home Newborn Session || Wyatt

From wedding day memories to welcoming baby Wyatt home.

There is something incredibly meaningful about walking back through the front door of a couple’s home after photographing some of the biggest milestones in their lives. A few years ago, I had the privilege of documenting Cara and Matt’s engagement and wedding. Now, here we are celebrating one of their greatest adventures yet. The arrival of their sweet baby boy, Wyatt.

This home newborn session was especially meaningful because of everything this family had already walked through before bringing Wyatt home. Cara was placed on bed rest, and Wyatt made his grand entrance well before his due date. Thankfully, this little guy proved to be just as determined as he was tiny. After a stay in the NICU, he was strong enough to head home. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect for their newborn session.

One thing that made me smile the moment I walked into their house was Wyatt’s nursery. It was absolutely adorable and looked like it belonged in a magazine. Cara and Matt finished it impressively early in her pregnancy. Almost as if they somehow knew they would need it sooner than expected. Every little detail had been thoughtfully chosen, making it the perfect backdrop to document these first precious days at home.

As I photographed them together, it was so evident how naturally Cara and Matt have stepped into parenthood. They carry themselves with a quiet confidence that is beautiful to witness. Even though they’re brand new parents, they already seem completely at ease with their little boy, soaking in every cuddle and every tiny expression Wyatt makes.

And if I had to make one prediction, it would be that it won’t be long before Matt has Wyatt tagging along beside him on hunting trips across their land. It’s easy to picture this tiny newborn growing into his dad’s little sidekick before any of us are ready.

One of my favorite parts of photographing families over the years is getting to see these stories continue. Weddings are never the ending. They’re just the beginning. Watching couples grow into parents and getting the opportunity to preserve each new season is one of the greatest privileges of my job.

Cara and Matt, thank you for inviting me back into your lives once again. It feels like yesterday that we were celebrating your wedding day, yet somehow here we are admiring your beautiful son. Time truly has flown over these last few years, and it has been such an honor to watch your family grow. I am so excited to share these newborn photos and can’t wait to see all the adventures that await little Wyatt Richard Pirro.
