An Immaculate Conception Ceremony & Reception at The Mill & Mine

Paige and Peter got married this past weekend at Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Downtown Knoxville. Afterwards, they celebrated with one incredible reception at The Mill & Mine. Here are some unique things Paige and Peter did on their day:

1. They shared a first look with their pups. Okay, ‘first look’ may not be the right phrase to use here, but they brought their pups out to them. And one of my favorite wedding day puppy photos came from it. As Paige and Peter held hands, I shot through their shoulders to get their doggies walking down the sidewalk to them. It was really adorable! Side note, they got the dogsitters ties with dog silhouettes on them, and it was really stinking cute.
2. They did family-style food. Instead of a buffet or a plated meal, The Mill & Mine brought out big bowls of each food item for every table to share. I’ve never seen this done at a wedding before, but I think it’s kind of genius. It has the feel of a plated meal while allowing each guest to choose their own portion size. I’m not sure if this is easier/cheaper for the catering staff, but it seemed like a great idea to me!
3. Paige’s sister/MOH wore a floral dress while the rest of the bridesmaids wore different materials, shades, and styles of bridesmaids dresses. It looked SO good. I thought she had given them further criteria of wanting two dark blue, two medium blue, two ruffly/tulle, two lacy tops, but she didn’t. She just gave them a palette, told them to pick out their favorite, and it ended up working out this way. Take a look below because it’s super pretty!

Find ways to make your wedding uniquely your own. Do things that bring you joy. I am so here for it! Paige and Peter did this so well at The Mill & Mine for their wedding!
