Sunset Castleton Engagement
Mikia and Wes are getting married August 1st, 2020, at Castleton Farms, and that’s actually their original wedding date! 5 of the 7 August weddings I have are reschedules from April and May, but not these two. They just somehow knew August would be the golden month and snatched it up!
The first time I meet most of my couples in person is at their engagement session. Prior to that we talk on the phone and through email, but it’s not the same. Technically, I met Mikia and Wes at their Castleton Farms planning experience where we talked exclusively about their wedding day timeline. This is definitely not the same as getting to spend actual quality time with them, and I’m thankful we went ahead with their sunset Castleton engagement session because I had so much fun getting to know them. I got to meet their two ADORABLE pups. I learned about their love for rivalry football teams (TN vs. FL). I also found out they have an amazing sense of humor that kept us all laughing the entire time. At a socially acceptable distance, of course.
This is a total digression, but I have to say it. If there is one thing that has become the theme during this COVID-19 season for me, it is to just love people. Love people like Jesus would love them despite a crazy virus. Don’t be overcome by fear (easier said than done), and trust your gut when it tells you to go serve. I’ve seen my church (Shoreline) step up in these ways so well throughout this entire time, and I’m just so thankful I have such an incredible example of how to love and serve in this season. If you’re looking for somewhere to turn to for refuge in the midst of all this chaos, Jesus is the ultimate goal, and I know Shoreline will be an absolutely incredible guide to helping you find your way there.
