Urban Engagement at The Pharmacy
It’s not every day I get asked to take a film picture for one of my couples. Or that I am working with a photographer to shoot his engagement photos. For Houston and Christina, however, this was the case at their urban engagement session at The Pharmacy. When we arrived at The Pharmacy, there was one table left in front of the window. I snagged it while I waited for Houston and Christina to get there. When they did, we placed their order, and while we waited I began shooting Christina’s ring. As I’m clicking away, I hear Houston say, “I’m glad you’re not scared to crank up your ISO,” and it took me aback for a second. I don’t usually have clients able to read my camera settings, and I definitely don’t have ones that know what ISO means. ha! I smiled, pulled back, and started talking about how AMAZING the Mark III is with higher ISO settings. It was so fun to be able to talk camera with someone other than my photography besties.
As we walked through Downtown Knoxville taking their photos, I asked Houston what he preferred to shoot. He is mostly a videographer filming rap videos in Atlanta, but when he’s photographing, his main focus is on Christina. And boy could I tell. That girl can WORK a camera. She knew what looked good. I would start off thinking I needed to coach her and tell her what I wanted her to do, but then, she would start going and do things even better than what I communicated. She is absolutely stunning, and I watched so many times Houston get lost in her sweet smile. These two are just an absolutely adorable couple that had some fun urban engagement photos at and around The Pharmacy on Gay Street downtown. I’m just glad they chose me as their wedding photographer.
