Have you ever heard of Deerfield Resort in LaFollette, TN? I’m going to guess probably not. I hadn’t either, but woah, baby. It’s SOOOO stinking pretty. It’s about 45 minutes from the interstate, as far off the LaFollette exit as possible, and it has a view of Norris Lake on either side of the mountain. Some of the properties just have views, and others have lake access. On my way back to photograph this sweet family, I saw one house for sale, and I immediately sent it to my husband along with the views it had out the front AND back. We’ve thrown around the idea of needing a bigger house sometime in the next 5-10 years assuming we have more than 2 kids (right now we just have 3 bedrooms), and I have fallen in love. Of course, houses that have such amazing views are more expensive, but it didn’t look huge or updated. I will go ahead and tell you though, it’s not happening. As soon as I got home from shooting, I looked it up and shew…it was still out of our price range. Also, I think the beauty of it all made me forget how far away from civilization it was. Great for vacationing…not so much for living. Anywho, let’s get on to this family. So. it’s not ACTUALLY the Gallagher family. The Gallagher family is one small household within this big ole family, but I could not find Lauren’s maiden name anywhere, so I’m calling them the Gallaghers ha! See, Lauren is a photographer. When she asked me to photograph her entire family, it meant the world. Out of AAAAALLLL the photographers she could have picked, she chose me…it was such an honor! Their family has been coming to Deerfield Resort for 20 years, guys. TWENTY YEARS! How cool is that???? They started going to the small condos they offer, and gradually, as their family grew, upgraded the house every year. Now, they are in one of the sweetest properties in the resort that will hold all 14 of them. It was cool to get to know a little more of their story and see what a tight knit family they are. Even though they are spread out all over the United States, they still make time to come together and be with each other. It was an absolute pleasure working with them!
