Get ready, you guys, because this Cades Cove family session is about to make you start cheesin’ ear to ear. We woke up at the crack of dawn (actually earlier) for this Cades Cove family session and drove around the park for nearly 2 hours getting awesome shots of Stephanie, Chris, and their teensy weensy one, Gavin. It took him a second to warm up to me, but then, he started grinning with his little nose scrunch throughout the entire session. I could. not. get. enough. When I was little, I had something called the “smiley face” according to my mom, and the “sunshine face” according to my dad. I would look up at them and smile with my whole face…one large nose scrunch. I started doing this before I turned one, but I distinctly remember doing it maybe right around 4 or 5. I think my love for the nose scrunching kind of smile really originated there, but it has played out time and time again throughout different areas of my life. One being a little orphan in Africa at Tumaini Miles of Smiles when I was in college. Her name was Naomi, and she already had a sponsor. Something about that little girl’s smile just drew me in, and I just had the biggest heart for her. Looking back now, I realize it was the nose scrunching smile she had. It just got me. Like we understood each other. ha. So, when Gavin came rolling out with his big ole’ cheesing grin, I couldn’t help but start cheesin’ myself. I hope he can do the same for you as you scroll through all the Rodarte family photos!!
