This was the first RiverView Family Farm wedding that I have shot, and I am so stoked to be sharing these images with you tonight! There truly are so so so many amazing areas to take photos at this venue. In the case of this couple, they (or maybe not they but definitely the bride) love cows. So, in addition to the beautifully shaded areas, wooded backdrops, barn wood walls, and cute little farm house, we also went out into the cow field and took some with the cows in the background. I personally LOVED these. It’s just so different, and there’s something so artistic about having the formality of a wedding gown and suit contrasting with the casualness of cattle in the background. But more than just what meets the eye, the ladies running this RiverView Family Farm wedding were amazing. Rachel is the owner and lead coordinator, and she greeted me immediately upon arriving to the barn. She showed me around, told me where the girls were and was just so pleasant to chat with. She had a couple of ladies working with her, and between all of them, they got the barn decorated SO adorably. When it was time for the reception, there was no doubt in their professionalism and organization. Despite the incredible heat and humidity, the barn wasn’t too too hot with the jumbo fan that RiverView has running in the top of it’s barn. Combine that with the open sides, and there was a pretty substantial breeze coming through at any given time. If you want more info on this venue, visit their website here: http://www.rvffarm.com/
Here is my biggest takeaway from Maddie & Lee’s wedding. They know how to have fun, and they definitely know how to throw a party. The whole day was an absolute blast, but when it came time for the reception, they did so many awesome, unique things that made it even better. First, Maddie changed out of her dress into the cutest little BHLDN white dress and paired it with the glitteriest Kate Spade Keds that were to die for. This allowed her to be so much cooler and party that much harder. Second, was the garter toss. Now, I don’t think ANYONE saw it coming when Lee started giving Maddie a PG lap dance before he got down on all fours and literally removed her garter with his teeth. You will see a whole series of photos of this event below that shows Maddie’s reaction and let me tell you… it’s priceless. Third awesome party event was the Fireball shots. Right after the garter removal, the DJ played Fireball by Pitbull. At that same exact time three caterers came out with a bucket of airplane bottle size Fireball shots and started passing them out on the dance floor. If you are a bride wondering how to get your guests to dance and have a good time… you should do this. It’s a surefire (pun intended) way to get everyone on the dance floor! Fourth super original idea was Papa John’s pizza. If you remember correctly, Maddie and Lee had a pizza picnic for their engagement session because they are both so obsessed with Papa John’s pizza. Of course, it had to make its way into their wedding day, too. So, around 9pm after everyone had a sufficient amount of Fireball in their system, in came Papa John’s. And not just pizza… they also brought Mr. Slice to surprise Maddie & Lee, and to say they were excited was the understatement of the century. Lee took the pizza box out of Mr. Slice’s assistant’s hands and literally started tossing slices into the crowd of people on the dance floor. You’ll also see a series of photos of this happening too… the slice is small, but there’s an image with the slice mid-air flying to a guest. Now, what’s REALLY impressive is that not a single piece hit the floor! Remember all the Fireball in their system? Impressive. Anyway, they had one heck of a reception that is going down as one of the best in the AMP books!
