This year has been crazy. I knew becoming a mom would take away a lot of my time as a photographer. I also knew that I still wanted to be a full time photographer. But here’s what I didn’t know… how extremely difficult and picky I was going to be with people watching him. While I was pregnant, my plan was going to be to have Grayson in a mother’s day out program at 6 months. At least two days a week. That would definitely allow me enough time to keep up with all my photography things. Schedule shoots. meetings. etc… But when that time came, the ONLY places that I liked didn’t accept him until he turned 1 and the other until he turned 2. AAAAANNNNNDDD they don’t even really have a waiting list. Trust me, I tried getting him on it. You pretty much just have to go to church there. Or know someone who does. And as much as I love these places, I love our home church more. So, here’s the deal. I’ve been a full time stay at home mom and a full time photographer. Thank the heavens for my mother-n-law and for the flexibility of my husband’s job and for the miracle schedule that came from the baby whisperer. So this fall when I was shooting tons and tons and tons of family sessions, I attempted to have blog posts for each and every one of them like I’ve always done. And about half way through I realized it just wasn’t feasible. My clients were going to be waiting on me to write a blog post long after the images were edited and ready for delivery. That wasn’t fair to them. So this year, and since it was SUCH an amazing time saver, maybe next year too, I’m doing one big fall family session blog post that contains about half of the fall family photo sessions that I shot this year.
I have gotten to photograph some amazing families. You’ll see the Davidson’s, Parton’s, Hargis’, Valderrama’s, Morvant’s, Chaney’s, Wolfe’s, Schroader’s, Norton’s, Prater’s, and the Parrott’s. Kids of all different ages. Families of all different sizes. Some with puppies. At all kinds of different locations. You’ll see a family home, some pigeon forge, Sampson’s Hollow, two at my house, the Smithview Pavilion, and two at Shelby Bottoms park in Nashville. Some of them did a more fall theme and some did a more winter theme. Either way, each and every one of them are so gorgeous in their own way. I love these families and am so excited to share all their photos with you!
