Since my fall schedule was and still is crazy packed, we decided to do Marlee and Matt’s lifestyle photos in the morning on a Friday. The forecast ended up being rain but we would have been shooting inside anyway so we kept it scheduled. I made “window light” using my umbrella flash and when the drizzle let up, we went out to their back yard. This fog had settled into the tree line behind them and the fall colors were so rich and gorgeous… who knew that a subdivision back yard with a privacy fence would be so so photogenic! We started out with just the two of them and then added in their puppies. For all you UT fans out there, you will love this fun fact. Both of their doggies are cousins to Smoky the blue tick mascot for UT. I think they might be the biggest UT fans in Knoxville. You’ll notice, now that I’ve said that, the little hints of orange all over their house. Very appropriate outfits for their lifestyle photos with the orange baseball tee too. They truly bleed orange through and through. Anyways, when I got there they had their doggies in the garage. They warned me… they are going to come out charging and they’re a little crazy and so friendly, but crazy. After they sniff you and get used to you they’re fine. So I braced myself and was ready… but surprisingly I had maybe a single jump up from one of them, then we were good to go for the rest of the time. Probably my favorite time out of the 30 minutes we spent together was in the yard while Marlee and Matt played with the dogs. A frisbee, stick, tennis ball, running around… it was pure joy.
