Amanda May Photos Studio

Wait… what? Amanda May Photos has a studio now? Well, not really. It’s just my house. But if you haven’t been here in the last year, you don’t know that I have converted the front “formal” living space to my office/studio. It’s the room you walk into from the front door. I loooooove it. Since this conversion, I have photographed more and more at my house. This 1915 Colonial Style home is absolutely full of windows and gives the most gorgeous window light for photography. So when Bri told me she wanted newborn photos but little Amelia was 14 days old, we decided to do more of a “lifestyle” newborn session in the studio. The second question you may be having right now, is what even is a “Lifestyle” session? Well, typically lifestyle happens at the home of the family and is more documentary style photography. The photographer is more of a fly on the wall and lets the family do what they normally do and it gets captured. But when you’re doing lifestyle of a newborn, she doesn’t really move around. So we just did them in my studio and got her being her. Some asleep, some swaddled, some kicking her legs, some awake, some pouty faces, etc… And I have to say, I think she’s going to be a model just like her mama. She loved the camera.
