Hattie Reece Parrott. I’m obsessed with her name. She is a baby sister to Lillian Kate Parrott, and a daughter to Kelci and Devan Parrott. This sweet family is a long standing Amanda May Photos client and really… more like friends. I’ve had the absolute privilege of photographing them “pre-kids“, Lillian’s maternity, newborn, 6 month, 1 year/Hattie’s maternity session, and now baby Hattie! You can imagine how well I’ve gotten to know them over that much time together. And just as you will read in all of the other blog posts, they’re pretty phenomenal. So this time, just so I don’t sound completely repetitive, I’m going to share a story from the session.
See the second photo down? The one where Lillian is standing in front of the chair with her sweet little toddler hand resting on baby Hattie? This pose, and the other one where they are both laying on their backs on the ground and Lillian has her hand on Hattie’s forehead… were kind of hilarious while we were getting them. Knowing how rambunctious Lillian is, I looked at Devan and Kelci and said, would you like to attempt to get one of these… or….no? And of course, being the adventurous people that they are, both said YES! So we got Hattie set up before we brought in Lillian. Devan stood just inches away from her and kept repeating Eeeeaaaassyyyy Lillian, easy… as he slowly released her hands. Every time he let go of her, her hands went straight to bopping Hattie. Devan would grab her really quick and say eeeeaaaasssyyyy baby… gentle… and let her go again, and again, she just wanted to pat baby Hattie… really hard… as close to her face as she possibly could. But never-the-less, we got a couple awesome shots, and you would never know that Devan’s arms and head were photoshopped out as he prevented his toddler from going kung-fu-panda on his newborn. It’s so much fun getting to see theses two girls interact at this age. I can’t help but envision what best friends they’re going to be as they get a little older! P.S. no child was in danger in the making of any of these photos ;-).
Thank you Kelci and Devan for letting me capture another amazing time in your lives. And by amazing, I really mean sleep deprived, busy, nauseas, crazy, time in your life. But it’s worth it. And you look so good doing it!
