The first question I get when I tell people that I took engagement pictures at the Biltmore Estate is why? I think I’m a little unique in the fact that I travel more than most Knoxville Photographers. Having started my business in college in Kentucky, then moved it down to Knoxville for a year before I lived in Nashville for two years, I met a lot of potential clients from all over the southeast area. Although Sean and Christine live in Knoxville now, I was completely smitten with the thought of taking their engagement pictures where they got engaged, at the Biltmore Estate. First off, the grounds around the Biltmore are just stunning… even in the winter. There is so much variety from the green house, to the winding sidewalk going through the gardens, to the massive field overlooking mountain tops and thousands of acres. All of these within walking distance of each other.
Then of course the house itself. When my husband and I took our anniversary trip there last year, I was head over heals in love with how the building photographed. The sun sets behind it, so the face of the mansion is backlit by beautiful sunsets every evening. The same mountain ranges I spoke about before fall behind it layer upon layer. But my most favorite part is the tan color of the structure contrasted with dark windows, a dark roof, and dark lines highlighting each turn. It’s just gorgeous from all views and the only downfall is fighting with the other tourists there to admire it’s beauty.
I’m so thankful that I got to spend some time with Christine and Sean getting to know them better as we wondered the grounds. It was truly so hard to cull their images because there were just so many that I loved. This was the first time that I took engagement photos at Biltmore Estate, but let me tell ya, it was well worth the 4 hour round trip drive and if anyone else wants to go, you just let me know.
