You know how teachers always talk about how old they feel when they’re once student is getting married, or buying a house, or having a child of their own. I always thought it was so weird when they would say things like that… but now I get it. The girl in these pictures is a girl that I coached when I was in college. She was the first class that I ever coached and now she is about to graduate from the same college I did AND get married! Holy moly! Feels like yesterday that I was teaching her how to serve over hand and hit a down ball (volleyball was the sport in case you were wondering). Now she has found the love of her life in Dirk and let me tell you, she picked a good one. After the engagement session, we were all starving. We decided to grab a quick bite to eat and Tracy (Josey’s mom) rode with me to the restaurant. On the way she told me how much she loved Dirk and how she didn’t have any worries at all for their future. This is such a good sign because mommas know. They have this deep intuition and they just know. Then once we got to the restaurant, Dirk insisted on paying for my meal. I kept telling him that was not necessary, but he told me there was no sense in arguing because he wasn’t going to let me pay. He is JUST out of college guys. He’s in his first year of teaching and they had already paid me to come to Kentucky to shoot their engagement pictures. This was absolutely not necessary, but he did it. So nice and such a gentleman. If I didn’t say thank you enough that night, thank you again. Josey is going to be so loved (as is Dirk, because Josie is equally as sweet) and I couldn’t be more excited for them.
