I did something accidentally in 2024. In the month of June, we were at Anna Maria Island for my husband’s big family vacation for a week, and we followed that with an out of town camping trip for a week. It was poor planning on our part, but it forced me to not take on very many portrait sessions in the month of June, which is already a really busy wedding month. I realized once we got to July how much more enjoyable June and those vacations were without a mountain high edit list from all the extra portraits sessions. That coupled with the idea that I didn’t have to be gone the majority of week nights and could spend some extra family time doing fun summer things was really nice.
I took what I learned in June and transferred it to October. October is another month we are going to be on a vacation for 9 days and have all sorts of fall events planned in the other days. I had already taken on a handful of portraits before my epiphany, so I’m definitely honoring those and am excited to serve those clients. I capped it at 2 portraits a week, however, so it is much more manageable. We’ve already gotten our Boo! at the Zoo night, trunk or treat nights, Oakes Farm night, and pumpkin carving with the neighborhood night on the calendar. I’m already looking more forward to this fall knowing I’m not going to be an overwhelmed mess come November 1st.
So, why am I sharing these things with you?
Because I want to communicate to my amazing clients out there that going forward, I’m going to reserve May, June, and October solely for AMP weddings and engagements. I will still take portraits for all my portrait clients (including past wedding couples), but I will only offer availability in months outside of May, June, and October. Because of this slight shift, you may have to reserve your date a little earlier than you have had to do in the past. For those of you used to scheduling well in advance, nothing will change other than availability. For those of you used to scheduling 4-6 weeks in advance, we may begin looking 6-8 weeks out now. I know it’s hard for some people to schedule that far out, and I TOTALLY get it. If we can just get your slot reserved, however, I’ll know to block off that time frame, and we can move that frame around within my calendar as we get closer!
I have been INCREDIBLY blessed with amazing clients that are so supportive and loyal. I can’t tell you guys thank you enough for allowing me to photograph all these major milestones in your lives. It means more to me than I could ever express. As we move forward, I am absolutely thrilled to still get to serve you!
