The day started off rainy, but if I’ve learned anything about weddings, it’s that sometimes a little rain only makes the day more magical. Thankfully, this couple chose The Brookside as their venue. The Brookside offers an elegant indoor space to keep us dry during pre-ceremony portraits. The clean, neutral tones, high ceilings, and warm ambiance made for some uniquely beautiful wedding party photos. Just when we thought the rain might stick around for the entire day, the skies cleared (thank you, Jesus)! This gave us the chance to step outside and capture some really sweet portraits after the ceremony at Lincoln Park Baptist Church. The spot where Chelsea’s parents and now Chelsea and Chad have gotten married.
This bride and groom are huge University of Tennessee fans. The bride, who once graced the ice as a competitive skater, now works for the university in event planning. With her background as a former wedding planner, every detail of the day was thoughtfully curated to reflect their love story and their Tennessee roots. The energy and excitement throughout the day were contagious, with guests fully embracing the school spirit. One of the biggest (and most adorable) surprises of the night? Smokey himself made a special appearance! From the moment he arrived, the energy in the room skyrocketed. Guests lined up to dance with him, take photos, and share in the excitement. He was there for a long time, which made sure almost everyone got their special moment with him. It was a true highlight of the night and made this Tennessee-loving couple’s celebration even more memorable.
One of the most touching aspects of the day was seeing how much love and support surrounded this couple. The bride’s mother, a talented photographer herself, was an absolute joy throughout the entire day. As a fellow creative, she brought such a calm and kind presence, allowing her daughter to truly soak in every moment without a worry. It’s always such a special experience to capture a wedding where family plays an integral role in the couple’s love story. This wedding was a testament to love, family, and school spirit, all wrapped up in one incredible celebration. From the thoughtful details to the joyful moments with Smokey, it was the perfect day for this kind and wonderful couple. Rain or shine, their love (and their Vols pride) shined through in every single moment.
Here’s to a lifetime of happiness for these two. I pray it’s filled with all the love, laughter, and Tennessee magic they brought to their wedding day!
