Biltmore Ballrooms || Kyra & Evan Wedding

A Greek Wedding at the Biltmore Ballrooms in Atlanta, GA

I first met Kyra and Evan at Anastasia and Ellis’s wedding at The Press Room in 2022. They reached out to me about photographing their wedding at The Biltmore Ballrooms in Atlanta, and I jokingly said, “what if it snowed?!” We all laughed at the idea knowing Atlanta sees little to no snow any given winter. A few months before the wedding we hopped on another phone call to discuss their timeline. I lightly joked again about snow. I didn’t knock on any wood because the idea seemed like a less than 1% chance. But sure enough, as the day approached, there was a massive winter storm coming up from the south. Guess where it was going to hit. ATLANTA. What are the chances, you guys? If you know anything about the south, the further south you get, the more freak outs happen during snow. Vendors canceled left and right on these two. Flights for guests were canceled. The rehearsal was cancelled. What is already a stressful week getting all the final ducks in a row became even more jam-packed trying to replan all the things that were changing because of the snow. Huge shoutout to my second shooter, Emily Elizabeth, for not only stepping in last minute but also being willing to travel with me a whole day early to avoid getting stuck in Knoxville in the snow. We were roomies for 3 nights and made the most of some girl time we wouldn’t have had otherwise. But beyond the snow. Beyond the cancelling vendors and last minute change of plans. Evan and Kyra had a spectacular wedding day. Kyra is a professional dancer, and if you didn’t know it before the wedding day, the dancing that occurred throughout the reception was a dead giveaway. She choreographed their own first dance and her father/daughter dance. They had Greek dancing off and on all night, and she definitely held her own on the dance floor in between all the other moments of the night. I heard her dad and her sister talk about her love of dancing, and the way Evan gazed at Kyra while she was dancing was pure bliss. What a fabulous day, you two.

Oh, one last thing. If anyone wants to bring me back to the Biltmore Ballrooms for another wedding, I. Am. Down. Holy moly that place is gorgeous!
