Sunrise Knoxville Botanical Garden Family Session

I met up with the Mattison family for their sunrise Knoxville Botanical Garden family session at 7am last week. I noticed when I left the house that it was pretty humid. So, I cracked the windows and turned the AC on the button where it pulls the air in from outside the car. Apparently, I should have just turned the AC off all together because as soon as I got my camera out to start shooting, my lenses were all fogged up. When this happens, there it literally nothing I can do. I wipe it off, but it immediately fogs up again. Sometimes, the view finder also fogs. Sometimes, even the inside of the lens fogs, and I have to try to wipe it from the back. It’s incredibly frustrating because shooting through the fogged glass prevents me from getting those crisp, clean images I love so much. I can’t force it to stop fogging so we just have to wait it out until the camera acclimates to the temperature around us. Thankfully, the Mattison family was super patient with me and my camera. When we stepped out of our cars at 7am, there was thick cloud coverage in front of the sun. By the time the lens defogged, the sun had peaked out, and we got some BEAUTIFUL golden lighting! So, maybe that was God’s plan all along, right??
