Marblegate Farm Christmas Wedding || Harriet & Robert
A Winter Marblegate Farm Christmas Wedding
There are a few things Harriet and Robert did at their Marblegate Farm Christmas wedding that immediately stood out to me as a little different. I’m always keenly aware of the things couples do differently. I love when couples tailor their day to their taste, and Harriet and Robert did this in the best ways!
Harriet is from England, and Robert is a pilot. Throughout the various festivities during their engagement, they incorporated a lot of teacups, tea parties, and teapots. They even gifted me one of my very own on the wedding day! At the rehearsal dinner, they used gold airplanes as part of the decor. Then, they remembered to bring the gold airplane and the tea accessories to the wedding day for me to use in my detail photos. I LOVED having these as little accents that took their details from just being details to being very tailored to who they are as people!
Sometimes, it’s easy for the groom’s family to kind of take a back seat on the wedding day. The bride’s family is usually integrally involved in the wedding planning and is in the limelight on the wedding day. The mother of the bride zips the bride into her dress and helps put on her jewelry and shoes. The father of the bride has his very own first look, walks the bride down the aisle, and gets a special dance. On Harriet and Robert’s day, they wanted Robert’s family to have special moments, too. So, Robert did a first look with his immediate family after he got dressed. It was really precious and super easy to do!
Harriet’s dad is celebrating a milestone birthday right after the wedding. During the toast portion of the reception, Harriet and Robert stood up to thank everyone for coming then led the group in a happy birthday song and presented her dad with his own British flag birthday cake. It was adorable. You’ll see the photos below, but when the birthday song started, herd dad covered his face with his hands while Harriet was cracking up laughing into the microphone. The photos are priceless.
Lastly, after the cake cutting, Harriet dedicated her bouquet to her mom. Instead of doing a bouquet toss and letting a single lady catch the bouquet flying through the air, she made a very sentimental speech to her mom and then dedicated her bouquet to her.
If any of these things spoke to you, please feel free to adapt them to your own wedding day. Seeing what other people do to tailor their day to them can inspire so many to do the same with their own wedding day! Be different. Do things that mean a lot to you. Allow the moments with your VIP people to unfold in such a magical way, and I’ll be right behind you to preserve it forever.
Harriet and Robert’s Marblegate Farm Christmas wedding was brilliant. I adore these families, and I adore this couple. It was an absolute pleasure getting to know them over the last few months, and I’m absolutely thrilled to share their photos with you guys!
