Oh Ramble Creek…how you know all the things to do to make a photographer’s heart beat out of her chest. I just love this venue. When it first opened, it was all I ever saw come across my feed. Photographer after photographer doing styled shoot after styled shoot. I kept waiting patiently… or probably impatiently… to get my own and then I finally did. Coincidentally, it was also in December, and I’ve gotten to go back several times since then. I love everything about it. I love the building, the pond, the bridges, the fields, the vineyards, the trees… every. single. thing.
On the day of the wedding, a bridesmaid helped me carry the groom’s suit down while I carried the wedding dress to take photos of each hanging on the front doors. I’m shooting away, and she says “So Megan told me that this is one of your FAVORITE venues” and without skipping a beat, I said “oh yeah… I love love love this place” and before she could answer me back, Buck walked around the corner and said “Yeah… I kind of love this place too”. If no one knew better, they would have thought I planted that bridesmaid there just to say that right as the owner of the joint rounded the corner. But I didn’t, of course, it was just impeccable timing and now they know when I tell them that I love their venue, that I truly mean it and I’m not just blowing steam ;-).
Now on to the good stuff. I alluded to this in my sneak peek post the night of the wedding, but my most favorite part about Megan and Mike’s day was right after the ceremony. We had finished every single image before the ceremony, so afterward was more just play time. I took the entire bridal party back out for just a few more photos and then we wrapped up all the portraits with more of just Megan and Mike. But it wasn’t the photos that I’m talking about here… it was the giddiness that was consuming Meg and Mike. Don’t get me wrong, every couple is excited to finally be married after their ceremony, but this was a little different and it just made me so happy. They both could not stop cheesing it from ear to ear. Every time I gave them instructions, it would be a delayed application and then Megan would say “oh… yeah… sorry… I’m just so excited!!” as she realized that she was losing herself in the eyes of her HUSBAND! It was both adorable and absolutely incredible and if I knew NOTHING else of these two, that alone would help me to know that they are in this thing forever. They are not backing down to anything and their love is unbreakable. That is marriage you guys. That’s what it means and that’s it’s beauty and I’m just so excited to have gotten to be a part of Megan and Mike’s day!
