Studio Newborn Photos
This sweet precious little boy belongs to Angel and Drew Sims. Who I had the absolute pleasure of documenting as they said “I do” to one another at the Capitol Theatre a couple summers ago. They recently welcomed Elijah Sims into their family almost 6 weeks earlier than he should have come. Due to his earliness, they kept him at the hospital for a little while making sure he developed properly, and when he did they sent him home at almost 2 weeks old! It wasn’t long after that, that Angel and Drew contacted me for studio newborn photos! I was a bit nervous because normally I take studio newborn photos between day 5 and 7 and he was going on 3 weeks. Obviously it was different since he was a premie, but never having worked with a premie, I was just hoping that he slept well enough for me to fold him all over the place. As I was communicating this with Angel, she said “I have super low expectations, whatever you can get will be better than what we would have had” which totally eased my nerves. The time came and the Sims family came to the AMP studio for baby Elijah’s newborn photos. Angel & Drew gave Elijah a bottle which passed him out and he did so perfectly well the entire time we were shooting. None of us were prepared for the pure comatose state he fell into which allowed me to manipulate him all over the place and get some amazingly adorable poses. I’m so thankful for this sweet family!
