Family

You know those clients that stick with you from the beginning? I have very few families that are still around from the time that these sweet Baloga’s hired me. In fact, maybe the only other client still around from that time is Nick’s brother Jonathan and his family. There are so many other blog posts on this family and every single one of them I talk about what amazing parents Nick and Ashley are. I talk about how wonderfully beautiful and behaved their children are. And I feel that way now more than ever, but just to switch things up a little, I’ll give a little story behind one of my favorite images from the session.

Let me start off by saying that of the 6 kids, two of them are boys, and they are the two middle kids. Being surrounded by 4 sisters does not make these boys any less boy… in fact, it may make them even more boy. And even with all their boy wildness, when I pulled into the driveway and got out of my car, I was first greeted by the two of them with a Hey miss Amanda! and it completely melted my heart. They have SUCH sweet and kind souls. Quickly followed up with my greeting was We got new shoes! and I couldn’t help but smile ear to ear as they both talked my head off. So I wanted to preface this story with the sweetness that they both have. Fast forward to after the rain cloud passed and we were taking pictures with mommy (Ashley). It was kind of hard to get the youngest one in the picture with mommy in the first place, I think he was getting over the camera… but when he did I said Isaac, can you give mommy a kiss on the cheek?  and he got this suspicious smile, turned to his mom’s cheek, and licked her from bottom to top! It was perfect and hilarious and a total boy moment. My favorite part of it all though, and something that none of us would have been able to appreciate without the image, was Ashley’s facial expression as it happened. Yes, she was expecting a kiss, but when she felt the tongue, her expression did not turn to disgust or anger, she kept her sweet little smile like even though it was a sloppy, wet tongue, she valued it just as much as if it had been a kiss. That shows you what type of mom she is. One picture really can say a thousand words. I love how she “moms”… yes, “moms” as a verb.
